Play with the focal length and blurring in the camera dialogue and you'll start getting results. More so if you have Strata 3d pro use radiosity if you machine has the power and play with soft shadows....this is really the key to realistic lighting.

People have been talking about a revolutionary effect by one of the strata users on this site called a glo-dome it's very effective and very easy... it's not a new idea but now as machines get faster more old-time users like myself are using it more. Basically wrap an environment picture around a sphere and add a glo effect in the materials dialogue. make the sphere huge and centre your model in the middle of it. Turn off all lighting and ambient light et voila a beautifully lit image...only works with radiosity and eats away at you memory....also takes ages. have fun waiting for the render!! Simon
