Please help, I'm missing something here. I've tried opening a new doc in PS before sending 3d to PS but to no avail. I get the message
Error 8000: Cannot open the file because the open options are incorrect. (Line 174 templateDoc = app.open (fileRef);
I have Strata CX 6.1.1, PS CS 4 and have installed everything from the Optional Installers folder in the Strata folder. I upgraded recently from Strata CX 5 and from PS CS to CS 4.
Thanks very much

Thanks Kevco. I've only got the alias to the folder, (Strata D3D CX 3D[in] Plug-ins (in my Strata Design 3D CX 6 folder in applications)), which contains StrataImport.plugin, StrataModeler.plugin, StrataRender.plugin and StrataViewMatch.plugin. There are no other references to the other plugins. I still have the issue though. I'm on Mac OS X Version 10.6.3 on a 2x2.26 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon CPU. Regards

Try starting in PS CS4 and doing a Filter > Model New. This should open a document in CX 6. Put an object in the modeling window that opens in Design 3D CX 6 and return it to PS. See if that works. |

You may have hit on something here, in my PS 4 I don't have Model New under the filters menu.

Is your Photoshop CS4 the "Extended" version? |

Hi Kevco. Yes it is Extended. I got it specifically with Strata in mind. Is there some other plugin I need? Where abouts in under the filters menu do you see Models. With PS4 I notice they have a function where you can turn on and off menu items but I still can't find Model.

This is where the plug-ins show up in the Filter menu...

Thank you very much, that works, I can copy another Strata model into that and send it to PS. I needed to add the Strata plugins into the Additional Plug-ins folder in PS4s preferences to get them into PS4's filters.

The Strata Plug-ins only work in the 32-bit version of Photoshop Extended. If you really have a 64-bit version of CS4 then that would be way you can't see the plug-in (filter) options. You need to put the plugins into and use Photoshop Extended (32-bit). |

I changed the plug to the 32 bit version of CS4 an it showed up in the menu. How can I now change Strata to send the model to the 32 bit version instead of the 64 bit version? |

From Photoshop Extended (32-bit) version:
With an empty photoshop document, select "Model New". This should open an empty model in Design 3D CX 6. If this works, try the Send to Photoshop from Design 3D CX 6 and it should now use the 32-bit version of Photoshop. Doing the Model New from Photoshop helps to let Design 3D CX now where the copy of Photoshop is that you intend to use, especially if have two Photoshop versions installed on your computer.
