The reason I ask as a really cool script or plug in would be a one that one could render an object with the items closest the screen lighter than those farther away. This would allow one to create geometry, turn it into a bump map and then simplify the geometry and use the thuse created bump map instead.
I remember seeing a workaround where someone in effect put a black fog in place that made things that were further away appear darker but this didn't really work.
Such a plug in would be a great enhancement - perhaps it could even be used to create more sophisticated displacement maps in a later versoin of CX.
Just a thought as I am trying to make a wicker basket and am not overly enamored of the idea of trying to weave all the geometry or willing to end up with the flat look of a bump map. Oh well, ...
Wow! That is awesome sounding. This should be better promoted as a feature as it is something that I have wanted forever and I am sue that I am not alone. Thanks Michael. Now, I just havve to wait ffor Christmas to get my upgrade to CX 5.
