Just to start things off, since the discussion seems to be degenerating. You have two hours to model, texture and render a stuffed animal, of any sort. Bonus points for a setting, but it's not necessary. Post results here (or in the gallery, and link the image here).

Two hours from when? Or are we just supposed to keep track of our own time. And is this pure Strata, or is Wings allowed for modeling?

This one sounds cool. And two hours doesn't sound too bad! When you said SPEED challenge I got real nervous. Oh… does the two hours include design and planning? Dasch |

Nope, just time spent in Strata. You can think about it before hand, find reference, etc. but once you open a new file in Strata, the clock starts ticking. That includes render time as well, so don't set up a 3-day render with multiple hair textures =)

OOHH! I forgot about render time. I.m at 1.5 hrs and haven't started the render. (Still have a little texturing to apply) Guess it'll be a simple little render. Fun Challenge Michael!

I'm done! That was a cool little challenge. It took me alittle longer than I planned because I had to de-archive an earlier model and toon-render it for the tag, but I was only 7 minutes off the deadline. Total time 2hours, 7 minutes!

Great work Dasch! You have set the level of this challenge. It will be hard to do something that good. Danne/

Thanks Dan. It shouldn't be TOO hard! All you have to do is get it done in 2 hours! I didn't really succeed in the "speed" portion of the challenge. I feel I could have used two or three more minutes to fine-tune the DOF blur.

I spend many time to have the translation of stuffed... And I make my stuffed animal under 2 hours... but when I see the Dasch stuffed animal, I think "Yves, get stuffed! I'm stuffed full...". Bah, I sendings nevertheless my image, so much worse if I badly understood stuffed http://www.stratacafe.com/image.asp?imageID=12871 |

Yves: Good work! You blew my speed skills out of the water. I love your image. Very humorous.

Yeah, great work on Dasch and Yves. I also had a little problem with what stuffed meant (my english vocabulary is pretty bad ) but I think I'll do a try trough it's hard to come up at this level. I'll try later on this week since I'm pretty busy right now.

I'm in. I went just over the limit at 2hrs, 9min. 2 hours sure goes by quick. I hope these mini challenges catch on.

Now the entries are starting to show up. Great work everybody. Your elephant looks real good Yves! Also, very clever approach Peter! Steven - what do you have there? A hundred bears?
I have been toying with the idea of one more entry just to see if I can keep it under the 2 hour limit.

Here´s my contribution to the challenge! Found him on IKEA. Loch Nessy is his name. He´s really soft and cozy! Danne
