Posted - 04/28/2011 : 22:54:41 The file you wish to upload has to be smallish: I think 90k or less. You can post the standard web graphic formats if you want to share an image (JPEG, PNG, GIF); if you want to share a model file, be sure to zip it. S3D, OBJ, DAE, AI, etc. are not accepted unless they are zipped.
S3D files can be too large to post. Often questions here are about a simple modeling process: if that is the case, you can remove any unnecessary textures, additional geometry, HDRI environments, etc. to make the file smaller before zipping it. The easiest way to do this may be to copy the particular item in question to a new file with nothing else in it.
To attach or upload an image or file, you must use the "Reply to Topic" link at the top or bottom of the page, or the "Reply with Quote" button above each post. You cannot use the "Quick Reply" box at the bottom of the page.
When using the Reply to Topic link, you are taken to a more complete text editing box, with a link immediately below the text area for attaching or inserting an image. Use that link to select your file from your hard drive and upload it.
That's how I did the image below as an example. If you upload a zip file, you will get a missing image icon on your link unless you edit the code. You don't have to worry about that, though, the link will work anyway.
Image Insert: 39.02 KB
If you have a file or image that is too large to upload here, you can always upload it to an external file sharing service, and post the link here.
